Brand reset button or brand suicide?

The word on the streets is that Ksubi has partnered with UK based Topshop (as well as Aussie Company David Jones). In addition to being able to buy Ksubi gear at Topshop (it’s actually on their site now) they are launching a new line together called 3 A’s or something.

It’s no mystery that Ksubi has struggled to stay afloat financially over the years and this new partnership will without a doubt save the brand for now. But the writing has been on the wall for a long time now. $300 plus bones for surfer inspired jeans. I know a lot of serious surfer dudes and they aint buying no $300 jeans. How can you stay relevant by alienating your core? Hopefully this gives Ksubi the cash and time they need to turn themselves around.

First order of business - fire the brosifs that work in the NYC Store…they’re not exactly ambassadors for the brand. As a Ksubi fan they never answer the phones (call right now, I dare you. I bet they don’t answer) and they rarely know anything about what’s happening in the store. I think the last thing said to me when I was in there was “Dude, I’m not sure when the new stuff is coming in…it’s coming by boat or something…”.
